Charming, witty and funny; it's no wonder the British have a small empire across the world. Come join us for our very first international episode with Michelle Hands a Site Engineer from the UK.
Together we explore how she found herself in this career path, what a day at work might look like, the importance of showing intiative and some of the difficulties she has encountered when trying to break into this trade.
The artsy fartsy lady in me has a new media crush on Michelle, I just love pretty much everything she is doing online and think it's such important work. If you head over to her website www.thisisamansworld.co.uk you can find links to all her amazing social media sites where she shares her own experiences as a women working in a male dominated industry...and you know the odd poop story. This lady makes me laugh with humour, smile with her authenticity and i'm inspired by her honesty.

Insulation, it may not be something you think of everyday but up here in Canada it’s the thing that helps keep us warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Much like our homes, industrial plants in order to run efficiently need to be well insulated and with all the green intiatives that have been popping up in the construction industry I feel like this career path is one everyone should be paying attention to.
As a Heat and Frost Insulator our guest this week Adam Melnick found himself in this career quite by accident. Adam was such a pleasure to have on the show, I am happy our previous guest Jamie McMillan from Kickass Careers insisted that I reach out to Adam because I had so much fun interviewing him. As trades workers there’s always a healthy amount of bantering amongst one another, so for sure in this episode we poke a joke or two.
Mid you’d like to check out Adam’s podcast Accidental Apprentice just click on the link below,
If you’re looking online for Adam you can find him on Twitter @AccidentalAppr1 and Instagram @accidentalapprentice

This week we chat with Jamie McMillan founder of KickAss Careers. As a Journeyman Ironworker/Welder and Apprentice Boilermaker Jamie is no stranger to the construction trades and loves to advocate for careers in the MITC sectors (Mechanical, Industrial, Technology and Construction)
